I think I have the magic system/cosmology sorted out for The Skin of the World, my new series I’m developing. Fantasy writers love to invent magic systems; but creating a magic system of any complexity, that makes sense, without logical contradictions, is…hard. I love urban fantasy, but I’m tired of hot young witches/vampires/werewolves. The Rivers of London series doesn’t do any of that. It was one of the first, after Dresden, to have a mage gumshoe solving supernatural crimes. But these books are very different from Dresden. The books are funny, the main characters are a blast.

Yes, I do play most days. I still practice a fair bit. And I just have fun writing and arranging. But really…the secret passion of every guitar player…is just noodling. And yes, I do have a hole in my jeans, that was actually worn there. I didn’t have to pay $250 for the pleasure. 😉
